I was so shocked to hear the news yesterday of the passing of Heavy D. I grew up with his music and video's. The good and the bad ones. Ultimately I was a fan of his music and his contribution to Hip Hop overall. Here is one of my favorite Heavy D joints.

We Listen To Music At Night

I just copped a screener copy of this documentary yesterday. Ever since I heard about Michael Rappaport making this project I've been wanting to see it. I was little disappointed it wasn't longer, but that is just a minor gripe. The film captures ATCQ like I've never seen them before. All I can say is that if your even a remote fan of A Tribe Called Quest you should give this a watch. I know as soon as the Bluray is out it'll be on my shelf with the best of them.

The Legacy Begun

So I just got back from watching Tron Legacy and I'm off to the studio to hang out with my Sausage Gut Radio fam. At midnight I'm throwing down till 2AM so I hope you get a chance to listen to the show.

Oh wow this album is on point in so many ways. Trust me you need to cop this album by any means. Crazy Town

I also got a chance to watch the 2010 version of the Crazies, and all I can say is that I was probably crazy to sit down a waste two hours watching this. Next week maybe I'll give George Romero's version a view. It can't be any worse.

Media Watch

With all the G20 protests and such on the TV today I think I need a break to catch up on some movies. First up Shutter Island. Then I'm thinking Book of Eli or BBC's Survivors. Last night I caught She's Out Of My League and was totally surprised at how much it made me laugh. Yes it's worth a watch.

The Ballad of Purple St. James finally showed up in my mailbox today. I've been waiting eagerly to listen to this album for awhile now. So as soon as I popped it in the stereo I knew this was something different. Something I've been craving musically for too long. As I write this I'm about half way through the album, and I can honestly say that this is a gem of a record. I'd write more but I gotta dive back in. Treat yourself and pick this up.

Let's Party Down

Today I caught the first episode of Party Down season two, and just as I expected it was great. I'm not here to review this show, but if you haven't seen it, your missing out on one of the greatest comedies on cable. Do yourself a favor and pick up the first season on DVD. I really just can't wait for the Kristen Bell episodes.

This is what I'm watching right now. I just finished season two of Deadwood so I thought I'd go back and visit another Western. Last night I saw Avatar for the first time, so I have to say this movie isn't really cutting it for me. Even though It's directed from one of my favorites Walter Hill.

I've never heard of this movie before, but I saw it on TCM this week and decided to check it out. If your into road trip movies you will enjoy this film. It's at least better than that movie Robin Williams did called RV.
